Characteristics of Schismatoglottis Prietoi
Schismatoglottis Prietoi is originally from the Philippines and was first found on the island of Cebu. In its natural environment it develops in large stands on sandy river beds, anchored by rhizomes and thin, creeping stolons, comparable to Cryptocoryne species. Their small, elliptical, shiny leaves they look like those of "Petite" Anubias, but are lighter green in color, the plant also grows faster than Anubias.
Schismatoglottis Prietoi can be plant in the substrate, however, it can also be successfully planted as an epiphyte in rock. It has no special demands and also thrives in medium hard water, medium lighting and a good supply of nutrients through the water column are very beneficial. Growth can be quite slow at first, but accelerates after establishing. Over time this Schismatoglottis grows dense and broad. It spreads easily by dividing and separating young seedlings.
