Nite-Out II starter bacteria
Nite-Out II is a specially developed bacterial mixture that accelerates and perfects the start and maintenance of saltwater and freshwater aquariums.
Nite-Out II safely removes ammonium/ammonia and nitrite through a biological process (nitrification). The highly concentrated bacterial mixture is ideal for restarting aquariums and when changing the water to prevent an increase in toxic ammonium / ammonia / nitrite.
Available in the following sizes:
• 4 oz. (118mL)
• 8oz. (251mL)
• 16oz. (473 ml)
• gallon (3.79 L)
dosage
Setting up the aquarium or running in the aquarium
Daily 10 ml to 100 liters of aquarium water until neither ammonium nor ammonia or nitrite can be measured.
Aquarium water change or new fish for the aquarium
Once 10 ml to 100 liters of aquarium water with each water change or when stocking new fish.
Tips:
- Provide sufficient carbonate hardness (KH) to speed up the nitrification process.
- Use Nite-Out II with Special Blend for optimal start and long-term care.
- After opening, store between 4° and 7° Celsius.
- Ozone and UV light can kill bacteria, turn off for 12-24 hours during use.
This is how Nite-Out II from MICROBE-LIFT® works
The microbiological effect of the starter bacteria is explained by the nitrogen cycle in the aquarium water: Whether in a nano aquarium or in the ocean, nitrification, i.e. the 2-stage metabolic conversion of ammonium to nitrate, always takes place in the same way. Ammonia (NH4) is produced when organic waste materials such as fish feed, fish excrement or plant residues are broken down. If this is not fully used as a nutrient by the aquatic plants or if the pH value is just under 7 and higher, ammonia (NH3), which is highly toxic to plants, fish and invertebrates, is produced. Nitrosoma bacteria now convert the ammonium to nitrite (NO2). In order to prevent toxic nitric acid from endangering life in the aquarium, Nitrobacter bacteria break down the nitrite into the much more harmless nitrate, which in turn is absorbed by the aquatic plants or brought below the detection limit by regular water changes. One speaks of a well-established aquarium when the filter bacteria, which break down the pollutants in the aquarium water, have multiplied so much that they can maintain the ideal water quality for fish and plants. If the aquarium is brought in, new animals are added or the aquarium is rebuilt, starter bacteria such as Nite-Out II from MICROBE-LIFT® stabilize the nitrogen cycle and noticeably weaken the dreaded nitrite peaks. that they can maintain the ideal water quality for fish and plants.
