Read this before putting botanicals in your aquarium!

1: Rinse botanicals in the tap.
2: Boil them in a saucepan for 20-60 min, the cooking time will vary from product to product.
3: Pour out the water in which the product is boiled, this must not be poured into the aquarium.
4: Pour in new tap water in the pot and leave the products in it for about 12 hours.
5: Now you can put the products in your tub, remember that the products can affect the PH value in the water, so add little by little, observe fish and shrimp and check water values ​​along the way.

The  lotus pods  have several small holes/burrows in which shrimps can hide and find food. The lotus pods are a natural product and therefore have a natural appearance. This gives the aquarium a natural look and imitates the natural environment of shrimp and fish.

The effects of the  lotus pods  in the aquarium are comparable to the effects of catappa products. The Lotus pods are full of tannins that have many positive effects and lower the pH of the water in a natural way. These substances also have an antibacterial and stress-reducing effect. The lotus pods give the water a brown color and are therefore also suitable for creating a blackwater biotope.

Because the lotus pod is a natural product, it can differ in shape and size.

Naturally contains polyphenols, proteins and polysaccharides. Like other natural products, these seed heads are attributed medicinal and antiseptic properties. However, this has not yet been proven.

Before use, we recommend boiling the lotus pods for 40 minutes. While cooking, place a rock or other heavy object on top of the pods. Finally, let them soak in water overnight, again under a heavy object. This is to minimize the buoyancy of the pods. It is some work, but your aquarium is guaranteed to have a beautiful, natural decoration richer after this.

This is a natural product and may vary in color, size and texture. Each pod is unique! The photo serves as a reasonable representation of what to expect.

Part of the "seed head" of the lotus plant (Nelumbo nucifera), these unique, light-as-a-feather botanicals have an average diameter of 3.5-4 inches (about 8.89-10.16 cm) and are a really cool piece of decor for a Southeast Asian or Indian themed aquarium!

These seed pods are the byproduct of human food production in India (almost every part of this plant is considered edible!) and are simply collected, cleaned and air dried, free of any chemicals or preservatives.

Interestingly, the seeds, and possibly the seed pods, of the Lotus contain polyphenols, proteins, polysaccharides… compounds commonly found in other botanicals and leaves that have been attributed “medicinal” properties for fish. However, we will stop suggesting any benefit to your fish other than their unique aesthetics!
