Frodo stone is a brownish-gray stone with a unique texture, sometimes containing white streaks and spots. Great for creating underwater landscapes - classic Iwagumi layouts. Its unique shape and beautiful texture give an exceptional visual effect to the aquarium.

The stone in the water remains a brownish-gray color, giving a natural effect to the greenery of the plants. Using only small foreground plants, a "rocky mountain" landscape can be perfectly recreated with this decoration.

It breaks into plates with a hammer. Most of the rocks are melon-sized, amounting to a few kg pieces. One of the heaviest natural decorations in our range.

What layout can they be used for?

Due to their unique pattern, Frodo stones can be used in our aquarium in many ways. Smaller rocks can be subtle, detailing decorations to the layout. But it is not uncommon for the occasional 50-100kg piece to be used by aquascapers for most monumental structures.

It has a more original color compared to seiryu stones, further enhancing the natural way of the layout.

For more complex mountain ranges, you may want to work with large amounts of rock, using small and large stones for a natural effect.

It can also be used as an additional decoration, for example, between plants or as a base for wooden decorations, in this case, it is best to work with smaller stones. Larger rocks can be broken to small ones as well.

How do we use Frodo stones?

For a massive structure, it is worth using glue, but many use the natural shape of the rocks and the force of gravity for the joints.

Rocks can be easily broken with a large hammer. You may want to use rocks of different sizes to increase the depth of space.

How do stones change water parameters?

Frodo stones affect the pH and hardness (KH) of aquarium water in a minimal amount. After a few months, this effect diminishes to a negligible extent. Therefore, unlike Seiryu stones, CO2 compensation is not required for their use.

How to clean the stones?

It is advisable to wash with water before use. In an aquarium, if the stones have algae, you can use a cleaning brush, an electric toothbrush or a sponge / brush. The stones can withstand such stress.

How many stones should I order for the aquarium?

The following amount may be a proper starting point for rock type of layout. Of course, this is not enough for a monumental rock structure, in which case up to two to three times as much decoration may be required. However, in our experience, a spectacular result can be achieved with the following amount for a general layout.
